New Frontiers in Slimming and Cellulite Reduction
By Diane Beyer & Skip Williams
To
reduce cellulite or remove unwanted inches we must first understand
what we are removing.
The
body has two circulatory systems, one that pumps blood through
veins and arteries, and another that pumps “lymph” fluid through
much smaller capillaries much closer to the surface of the body.
Lymph
fluid is a water like substance that carries nutrients and toxins
to and from the surface of the skin. Without much pressure
behind it, it can easily clog, stall and stagnate, thus causing
what we commonly refer to as “cellulite.”
To
attain slimming, inch reduction, and cellulite removal one must
simulate or recreate the pumping action of these small capillaries.
That
is why simple applications of creams or lotions can not unclog
or begin to move lymph fluid or reduce cellulite. Neither
is endermology a very effective method to reintroduce the pumping
action of the lymph system.
Several
factors are involved to attain healthy lymphatic system.
- Diet
– Just as fat and proteins can clog arteries, they can also
pollute and clog the lymph system.
- Exercise
– As we move, and the more we move, the lymphatic system sustains
a healthy pumping action that replenishes nutrients and removes
toxins and stagnant protein build up
- Water
– The more water intake we have the more flushing our body can
attain.
But
what if we already have cellulite
and
want to reduce those unsightly lumps and bumps?
Any
system that is going to reduce cellulite with any success will
require three things:
- Water
– The body needs as much water as possible if it is to flush
the stagnant lymph fluid and not simply re-release the toxins
into the body.
- Pumping
– Somehow we must get the lymph system pumping immediately and
vigorously so that the cellulite can begin to move.
- Compression
– Like an empty plastic bag the areas that have been collecting
the fluid and toxins will simply fill back up if we do not keep
a constant pressure on skin.
Through
simple physics we can stimulate the lymph system to flush much
of this unwanted matter from our body manually, at a much greater
volume than diet and exercise. The Synergie Lifestyle System
is one device that has achieved tremendous results, and is an
FDA approved method for cellulite reduction. Synergie targets
those problem areas through a complete, non-invasive treatment
program consisting of Synergie treatments, healthy nutrition,
and regular exercise.
A
study involving plastic surgeons found that “90% of women achieved
a significant reduction in the appearance of their cellulite and
100% of the women lost inches”. You can reasonably expect
a four-inch to ten-inch loss in the hips, waist and thighs.
The
Synergie Lifestyles System utilizes non-invasive vacuum technology
to massage the skin and subcutaneous tissues in common cellulite
problem areas such as thighs, hips, and buttocks.
On
the day a client receives a treatment it is recommended that he/she
consume 2-3 liters of water to achieve the best “flushing” results.
The
“Pumping” action for the lymph system is achieved by using this
vacuum massage to physically manipulate the collagen fibers and
connective tissue and increases metabolism to the treated area
through increased lymphatic circulation. This results in
a smoother skin texture, thus reducing the appearance of cellulite.
The
“Compression” is achieved through the use of a spandex body suit
which should be worn during the treatment and for a few hours
afterward.
The
Synergie program is divided into two phases:
Phase
I is the aggressive phase:
Treatments
are scheduled twice-weekly for two months, healthy diet is recommended,
adequate water intake is recommended (particularly on the day
of your scheduled treatment that you consume 3 liters of water)
and the proper vitamin intake (as per your body requirements).
It
is also recommended that you have the proper exercise: aerobic
and light resistance training to burn fat and tone underlying
muscle.
Phase
II is the maintenance phase:
You
will receive a treatment once a month to maintain desired appearance
and skin tone, continuing a healthy diet and water intake program,
and moderate aerobic and light resistance training to maintain
desired weight and muscle tone.
